The WY Expedition program is designed for those campers who are looking for a more intense adventure with activities that aren’t offered with any of our other courses. While the 17-day course starts and ends at Eagle View Ranch, the entire rest of the course is true expedition-style where groups go from location to location, camping throughout the entire course.

Groups begin by exploring both Grand Teton National Park for two nights and Yellowstone National Park for two nights before heading out to the town of Cody, WY. From there, campers visit an authentic rodeo and go whitewater rafting (looking at a multi-day raft trip for 2-3 nights). The group then heads out into the backcountry where they spend 4 days, 3 nights backpacking. When they return, the groups camp at Buffalo Bill State Park and rock climb in the Shoshone Canyon. The final day of their expedition is a “Group Choice” where the group works together to decide what they want to do with their last day in the field

The final two full days are spent on base. Campers volunteer with the Rangers of Shoshone National Forest learning various hard skills like installing fire pits, building fences, and maintaining vegetation as well as the importance of land stewardship. They will finally de-rig all of the gear they used for the expedition, emphasizing the importance of care for belongings.
